Feels like a needle jab to the neck at random times, when drinking something, chewing food or just talking. Some days it only happens for the 1st hour after waking up and other days it happens throughout the day, even waking me up in the middle of the night with the sharp pain.
I have had root canal and a tooth removed both from the same side and the pain went away but came back the following year around the same time of year. I've noticed when I get a deep dental cleaning the pain goes away but then again comes back the next year around the same time.
Not sure why, or if the tooth with the root canal was not done properly. The pain can be harsh sometimes—leaves me traumatized and not wanting to verbally communicate or eat due to the fear that it will trigger the pain. The pain itself feels the same no matter what type of medication I have used or been prescribed. I have used different types over the counter and prescribed medication and the pain comes and feels the same every single time.
