Any pointers in the direction of a tell-all about these drones, or can someone confirm their lack of value in comparison to other means of automatic freight transfer between TSs and TLs? They can do things by amounts with player owned stations only; it's generally better to get a high capacity fighter on the job instead.

I have worked out, i need to eject my freight drone and have Trading Software Mk installed. What i want to do is transfer a laser weapon uninstalled to a fighter from my Mercury ship to the Octopus. I can give the drone the order to fetch goods from my Mercury and it just flies around my Mercury as if in follow mode. Is this not working because my Mercury does not have a docking bay? Also there is a Transporter device cant remember the exact name would this be better suited to transfer cargo including uninstalled weapons to another ship?
